Evaluating quiz or grade item activities automatically

You can configure automatic evaluation for quiz and grade item activities so that users' activity achievement is determined automatically based on their quiz score or grade item score. If you use a rubric assessment for a quiz or grade item activity, select a percentages holistic rubric. The user's quiz or grade percentage is automatically mapped to the appropriate achievement level. You can also automatically evaluate a quiz or grade item activity without using a percentage holistic rubric by setting the activity Assessment Type to Numeric.

Quizzes

The quiz attempt used to calculate if a user has achieved the associated learning objective's requirements depends on how you configure quiz attempts in the Attempts tab on the Edit Quiz page. Users’ grades can be modified at any time. If you change a user's grade it might initiate a re-evaluation of activity completion and learning objective results.

Grade items

If you add a grade item activity to a grade item, or change Manually Evaluate to Automatically Evaluate after grades are entered, you must re-enter the grades for the rubric achievement.
